The craic returns in 2011
D&R Theatre

Thank you John (the owner of the D&R Theatre), Alex (the manager of the theatre), Rich and Chris (the soundguy and lighting guy) and all the other folks at the D&R who helped make this evening possible.

When it came time to find a venue to host the 1st ever Great West Coast Craic, we had specific needs in mind.

We needed somewhere that was large enough for over 1000 people, somewhere that could have a beer garden nearby, someplace that was easy to park near, and somewhere that had a great sound system and lighting.

We were blown away when we got the opportunity to tour the nearly restored D & R Theatre in Aberdeen.

Built in 1924, the D & R Theatre has gone through a complete restoration returning it to its glory. The venue now hosts a variety of concerts including Candlebox, the Galway Bay Tradition Celtic Music evening, Johnny Manson, Loaded, Robert Cray, Josh Turner and a number of internationally known artists to appear in the future.

We believe once you have been inside the D & R Theatre, you will agree that it is like stepping back in time and having the chance to see this how spectacular this venue was when it was built and actually get to hear live music in it, just like it was built for.
